‘They Are Going To Kill’: Sheikh Hasina’s Son Reveals How He Persuaded His Reluctant Mother to Flee Bangladesh
Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, has dismissed reports of his mother seeking asylum in the United States or United Kingdom calling them “rumours”. He said she was going to stay in Delhi “for a little while” and divulged details of how he persuaded Hasina to leave Bangladesh after she resigned on Monday amid violent protests led by students seeking an end to the quota system for government jobs.
Joy, in an interview with Deutsche Well, said that he was worried, not because she was leaving Bangladesh, but because she did not want to leave Bangladesh.
