IRONMONK Organizes the First-of-its-Kind HARA HARI ULTRA: A 60 KM Ultra Marathon from Lingaraj Temple to Puri Temple Promoting Heritage and Cleanliness through Swachhata Hi Seva 2024.
Puri (Ravibdra Kumar):– Team IRONMONK successfully concluded the historic HARA HARI ULTRA, a 60 km ultra marathon held between two of Odisha’s most iconic temples, the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar and the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri. The event, the first of its kind in the state, attracted 30 enthusiastic runners from various corners of Odisha, bringing together athletes of all ages to promote the region’s rich cultural heritage and emphasize the importance of cleanliness through the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2024’ campaign.
*A Celebration of Heritage and Cleanliness*
The HARA HARI ULTRA aimed to raise awareness about Odisha’s historical significance while advocating for a clean and green environment. As runners traversed the 60 km stretch from Bhubaneswar to Puri, they passed through areas steeped in cultural and spiritual importance, offering participants a unique experience that combined physical endurance with a deeper connection to the state’s heritage.
This year, the event was particularly special as it tied into the national Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, which promotes cleanliness and environmental sustainability. Each runner carried a message of cleanliness and conservation, aligning with the values of the campaign. This integration of fitness, spirituality, and social responsibility made the HARA HARI ULTRA a truly holistic event that extended beyond the physical aspect of running.
*Participants of All Ages: A 10-Year-Old and a 73-Year-Old Among the Standouts*
Among the 30 participants were two individuals who inspired many: 10-year-old Osheen and 73-year-old Urmila from Rourkela. Their participation underscored the inclusivity of the event, demonstrating that fitness and the love for heritage transcend age. Osheen, who has previously made headlines for her accomplishments in writing, added another achievement to her growing list. Meanwhile, Urmila’s participation was a testament to her enduring spirit, proving that age is no barrier to taking on new challenges.

Mr. Gopak Krushna Sahu, an Ironman Certified Coach and the visionary founder and CEO of IRONMONK, expressed his enthusiasm for Odisha’s potential to host international running events.
