District Launch of National Deworming Day Held at City High School, Berhampur.
Berhampur: The District Launch of the National Deworming Day was successfully held today at City High School, Berhampur, at 9:30 AM. The event witnessed the gracious presence of several distinguished guests who highlighted the importance of deworming among children.
The event was graced by the Hon’ble Mayor of Berhampur, Smt. Sanghamitra Dalai, who was the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Dr. Umashankar Misra, Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer (CDMPHO), Ganjam; Dr. Manas Ranjan Panda, Additional District Public Health Officer (AUPHO); Mr. Shakti Kumar Digal, Dy. Manager RCH (DMRCH); Mr. Malaya Biswal, Assistant Programme Manager (APM); Mr. Debasis Samal, City Data Manager (CDM); Mr. Umesh Kumar Panda, Public Health Manager (PHM); Ms. Kalpana Padhi, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), and the Head Master of City High School, Mr.Pannang Bhushan Majhi.
During the event, the dignitaries delivered insightful speeches on the significance of deworming in improving the health and well-being of children. The Hon’ble Mayor, Smt. Sanghamitra Dalai, emphasized the critical role of deworming in preventing malnutrition, anemia, and other related health issues among children.
As a symbolic gesture, Mayor Smt. Dalai administered the Albendazole tablet to a student, marking the official launch of the National Deworming Day in the district. The initiative aims to reach out to all children in the district, ensuring they are dewormed and protected against parasitic infections.
The event concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to work collectively towards the successful implementation of the deworming program across the district.
