State Cabinet nod for Kamadhenu scheme.

Bhubaneswar: Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Yojana (MKY) was among the seven proposals approved by the state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, here Saturday.

Addressing media after the meeting. Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said MKY will be implemented in the state for five years (FY 2024-25 to FY 2028-29) with a budgetary allocation of *1,423.47 crore.

“The scheme aims at increas ing milk production in the state. It would benefit over 15,47,837 farmers over five years,” he added. “While ₹110.23 crore has been allocated for buffalo entre- preneurship development, ₹476 crore has been allocated for go- palan. 187.42 crore has been al- located for Go-sampad Bima Yojana, 216.09 crore for calf rear- ing scheme, ₹166.43 crore for in- centive to dairy farmers of DCS and ₹200.68 crore for strength- ening feed and fodder produc- tion,” the Minister further said, adding that 41.10 crore has been allocated for strengthening dairy units and ₹25.52 crore for sup- porting Omfed.

Among others, the Cabinet also approved the proposal to amend clause 4(6) of the Odisha Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2016.

“The amendment allows the process of replacing institu- tional dealers in place of private- dealers till March 31, 2026,” Harichandan said.
