Sambalpur: Launching the CM-KISAN Yojana in Sambalpur on the occasion of Nuakhai Sunday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that second All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the state will come up in Sambalpur.

Majhi said that the state gov- ernment has already taken up the matter with the Centre con- sidering the need for specialised health services in western Odisha. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the process for opening the second AIIMS would begin soon.

Launching the CM-KISAN Yojana, he said that the scheme aims to extend financial as- sistance to farmers who have not been covered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana.

Currently, Odisha has one AIIMS under operations which is established in the state cap- ital Bhubaneswar. Established in 2014, the foundation stone for the project was laid by the late Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee July 15, 2003.
