Bhubaneswar:Manipal Hospital,Bhubaneswar, in association with IAP society (Indian Academy of Paediatrics) conducted a Neonatology workshop that brought together over 80 participants
from across the country, including 10 esteemed national faculties, to focus on the latest advancements in the management of extremely premature babies, particularly those bom before 28 weeks and requiring ventilator care. This workshop underscores the hospital’s commitment to advancing neonatal care and improving outcomes for these vulnerable infants. Two world-
renowned experts in Neonatology graced the workshop: Dr. Boris Kramer from Poland and Dr. Kartik Nagesh, Chairman and Head of the Neonatology Department at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore.
Their expertise was showcased in a live demonstration using goat lungs a cutting-edge technique to improve lung conditions in premature infants, providing participants with practical insights into advanced neonatal care. Organized by the dedicated Neonatology & Paediatric department team, led by Dr. Janaki Ballav Pradhan and De. Abilipsa Acharya, the workshop covered a wide array of topics. These included the latest techniques and protocols in ventilator management, nutritional support, and long-term outcomes for extremely premature infants.
Dr. Janaki Ballav Pradhan, Senior Consultant, Pediatrics, emphasized the importance of continuous education and skill enhancement in neonatal care. stating. Our goal is to ensure that every premature baby receives the best possible care, and this workshop is a step towards achieving that by sharing the latest knowledge and practices in neonatal medicine.
