191 apartments to be demolished in Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar: In a latest piece of news on the real estate front, as many as 191 apartments to be demolished in Bhubaneswar, said reports on Tuesday. Reports said that there are as many as 191 illegal apartments in Bhubaneswar that shall be demolished.

Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushnachandra Mohapatra gave this information in a written reply to a question in the Assembly.

A total of 491 cases were registered against the illegally constructed apartments and buildings under the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).

However on Tuesday, the state government has ordered to demolish 191 illegal apartments out of the 491 buildings.

Similarly, 63 cases have been dismissed while 237 cases are pending. Accordingly it is worth mentioning that, 1444 cases have been filed against the illegal construction of apartments under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Out of them, 451 cases have been decided, 993 cases are pending. The violators shall be prosecuted under the Odisha Development Authority Act,1982.
